Who We Are

Community Futures Lambton, formerly the Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corporation, is a non-profit entity guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and a staff team of experienced business professionals.

Supporting local since 1988

Funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), we have provided funding and complimentary business coaching services to local businesses in Lambton County since 1988.

We are part of a network of over 260 Community Futures organizations across Canada. Each office is situated in a community with a population of under 100,000 and is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and small—to medium-sized businesses in rural areas.

CEO

Sarah Reaume

Sarah is an experienced CEO with over 35 years of career experience, dedicated to driving innovation, excellence, and capacity growth across various industries. She is recognized for her people-centric approach, creativity, and critical thinking skills, making her both a problem-solver and a community connector. With a solid reputation as a mission-driven team leader and strategic thinker, Sarah has successfully implemented award-winning business solutions, resulting in increased revenue and achievement of organizational goals.
Business Development Officer

Christina Clark

Christina is passionate about helping businesses thrive. Her journey began at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), where she spent seven years empowering small and medium-sized businesses with financing and advisory solutions. She then continued making an impact on RBC’s commercial lending team, helping entrepreneurs turn their visions into reality.

With over a decade of experience fueling business growth , Christina has developed a deep expertise in entrepreneurship and strategy. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), a Marketing Diploma from George Brown College, and additional coursework in Business Process Management from the University of Toronto.

Beyond her professional career, Christina has been a dedicated mentor and advocate for entrepreneurs. She has volunteered her support to the next generation of business leaders through her participation with Pow Wow Pitch, Ryerson Venture Fund, Business In The Streets (BITS), Junior Achievement, and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).

In 2021, Christina took a bold leap, leaving the finance sector to follow her creative instincts. She co-founded a video production company, Kettle Point Productions, with her partner Leigh George who continues to manage the business.

In her role as Business Development Officer with Community Futures, she is excited to connect with and support the businesses of Sarnia-Lambton, bringing her passion, experience, and entrepreneurial spirit to the local community.

Jennifer McLaughlin

Jennifer joins our team having had 10+ years working as a Small Business, and then a Senior Banking Advisor for Scotiabank where she was well-known for the breadth of her knowledge, her dedication to her clients and her award-winning customer service. Jenn also brings years of experience as a small business entrepreneur to the position as a former owner/operator of a year ‘round, farm-to-table, 50-acre orchard near Arkona. Jennifer is excited to bring her solid grounding in banking, loan development and service, and her knowledge of small business operations to bear for our clients.
Marketing & Community Economic Development Officer

Ashley Rusticus

Ashley joined SLBDC in 2018 and has been instrumental in enhancing operations, reinforcing our mission, fostering team cohesion, and engaging with the community through digital channels. With a Digital Marketing Management certification from the University of Toronto and 12 years of experience in finance, Ashley oversees our digital marketing platforms, facilitates/delivers marketing workshops, and spearheads our Community Economic Development (CED) initiatives, driving meaningful impact for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Cindy Dallaire

Cindy is new to Community Futures Lambton and she is thrilled to embark on this exciting new chapter in her career. Her background in accounting and payroll speaks to her love for numbers and the satisfaction she gets from reconciling.

She is a passionate people person, with a deep enjoyment in building relationships and helping others thrive in whatever makes them the happiest. She firmly believes that “If you love what you do, it’s not work.”

Cindy is proud to have planted her roots in Sarnia and looks forward to working with the team at Community Futures Lambton to help fulfill our client’s dreams and aspirations.

Our team focuses on three primary services

Funding

We offer repayable loan funding of up to $300,000 to eligible local businesses, with a greater risk tolerance than traditional lenders.

Coaching

We provide FREE business coaching and advisory services to businesses at all stages of the business lifecycle.

Development

We collaborate closely with economic development partners to promote and support initiatives that drive community economic growth.

Lambton County is home to three First Nations Communities: Aamjiwnaang, Kettle & Stoney Point, and Walpole Island. The Community Futures Program serves these communities through the Tecumseh Community Development Corporation.
