Community Futures Lambton is a non-profit organization that has been providing funding and complimentary business coaching services to local businesses since 1988.  We are part of a network of over 260 Community Futures organizations across Canada.  Each office is situated in a community with a population of under 100,000 and is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs in rural areas.

We are funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev).  To date, we have lent nearly $50 million to small and medium sized businesses in Lambton County and helped to create or maintain more than 10,000 jobs.

We provide three service streams to local businesses.  We provide repayable loan funding of up to $300,000.  We provide coaching and support services across the entire business life cycle free of charge to our clients.  And we support community economic development at the grass roots level.

As part of our commitment to community economic development, we are offering $40,000 in grant funding to activate projects that will improve and enhance Lambton County’s communities.

In 2025/2026, we are offering $40,000 in grant funding.

We are offering grants of $500 to $5,000 to support community economic development projects.

Community Futures Lambton encourages applications from:

• Charitable organizations or Registered Charities
• Non-Profit Corporations
• Accredited Service Clubs
• Social Service Organizations
• Recognized Educational Institutions

Grant monies can be used to support:

• youth initiatives
• the growth and promotion of tourism in Sarnia & Lambton County
• the development of volunteers
• social or cultural projects or events within Sarnia & Lambton County
• innovation and/or technology that will impact economic development in Sarnia and Lambton County
• skills development, education and training that will impact economic development in Sarnia and Lambton County.

Grants are available for projects that will occur between April 1st, 2025 and March 31, 2026.

Yes, you can apply for a Community Futures Grant AND apply for funding from other sources as well.

Grant recipients are required to complete an application.  This application includes:

• a summary of project deliverables, key tasks and timelines
• a project budget

Grant recipients must complete a final report once the project is complete and provide appropriate receipts as proof of use of grant funds.

Grant recipients must also recognize Community Futures Lambton as a project funder.

Applications will open on Saturday, March 1st, 2025.

Applications will close on Monday, March 31st, 2025.

Grant recipients will be announced on Monday, April 14th, 2025.

Community Futures Lambton is committed to offering a minimum of $25,000 in grant funding each year going forward.  It is our hope to increase the grant funding available in future years.
